Scott in a few words
I have been coding since the mid-nineties.

I left college with a distinction in programming.

Since then after leaving University with a 2:1 I have had the pleasure of working on my own projects.

I’m mostly a web developer, using PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript in my work, although I’m also a C# programmer and am currently writing a game in Unity.

I currently work for an online retailer on their Magento 2 website.

I started out as a customer service advisor and during that time I worked on my own projects: Fan-fiction Website demonstrating skills in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript; A C# interactive library and a mobile dating APP written in PHP.

I demonstrated my skills and became a junior web developer to work on our Magento 2 site.

I have built new layouts working with the theme, added new components like load more and read more functionality to help with improving SEO.

I have since been promoted to lead developer and have worked on implementing code in Google Tag Manager and helping connect third parties to our site.

I have built a module to check if a website sells our products legitimately by allowing the user to enter that website into the database.

I continue to build new component’s to the website and work closely with the design team to build a pixel perfect responsive website that keeps inline with the latest trends.

I also work on my other projects such as a Unity Mobile Game, an online Coffee Shop and Recipes blog.

I enjoy a challenge and don’t stop until I have completed the task. I research the task and work to the best of my ability.

When I left school in ‘97 with 11 GCSEs I worked on my BTEC diplomas in I.T. I mostly had to support myself so I had to work a job as well as college. I left college with a distinction in programming after receiving a National Diploma. In 2001 I set off for university, however this didn’t work out as planned and I had to leave after my 2nd year for personal reasons. My jobs were then mostly in managing family run department stores and working on their websites. I continued to improve my computing skills and am now a lead website developer.
