Ik ben een full-stack ontwikkelaar met een sterke focus op backendontwikkeling in PHP en Symfony, gecombineerd met moderne frontendontwikkeling in React.

Sinds 2009 werk ik fulltime in de webontwikkeling. Vandaag bouw ik vrijwel al mijn applicaties met een Symfony + React-stack, waarbij Symfony instaat voor de backend en API-laag, en React voor de frontend.

Mijn ervaring gaat van kleine websites tot grote, architecturale en API-gestuurde webapplicaties:

Ontwikkeling van een volledig op maat gemaakt CMS (binnen een team).
Ontwikkeling van een API Platform-gestuurde ERP- en CRM-webapplicatie.
Meerdere controlepanelen voor uiteenlopende toepassingen en sectoren.
Diverse soorten webshops.
Complexe API-integraties en maatwerkapplicaties.
En nog veel meer.

Mijn belangrijkste focus tijdens ontwikkeling is eerst grondig analyseren en nadenken voordat er ook maar één regel code wordt geschreven. Een goede architectuur en doordachte analyse besparen op lange termijn veel tijd, kosten en technische schulden.

Ik besteed veel aandacht aan onderhoudbare code, herbruikbaarheid en toekomstbestendigheid. Software ontwikkel je niet alleen voor vandaag, maar ook voor de komende jaren.

Naast ontwikkeling heb ik ook ruime ervaring met projectmanagement, klantoverleg, functionele analyses, technische analyses, werkinschattingen en communicatie. Het begrijpen van de behoeften van een klant en deze correct vertalen naar een technische oplossing is minstens even belangrijk als het schrijven van de code zelf.

Ik start daarom nooit aan een project zonder eerst een grondige analyse en realistische werkinschatting te maken.

There is a big lack of quality code nowadays. Unfortunately a non-programmer never sees the lack of quality in their applications. And that will eventually bite you in the... bottoms. We try to prevent that and only deliver quality code.

Building applications for companies that can:
- improve internal procedures --> digitisation
- give added value to their products / services
- create applications for their customer

We see ourselves more as a partner towards our "clients" rather than being simply a supplier that creates websites or applications and be done with it. Always standing by for support or advice.

Besides applications we also build websites and online shops. Online shops could be created with e.g. an headless e-commerce backend platform connecting via an API interface to a JavaScript framework driven frontend that is styled via an unopinionated CSS framework.

Started as a Symfony developer for developing stand-alone projects. After some time developed a completely new version of the outdated custom built CMS. The CMS was built from scratch with a Symfony API backend and a React frontend. So developed a good knowledge about React.

I worked myself towards a pragmatic and guiding role. I also became a cooperative and took a deep part in the ins and outs of the company. Taken a lot of initiative in improvements within the internal operations, with success.

Over time, became the lead technical man; most of the questions, decision and action on a technical level passed via me. I took care of the analyzes, work estimates, technology decisions, server management, internal infrastructure. I also conducted job interviews of new developers, was fully involved in the board and took on a great deal of responsibility, management and guiding.

In the meantime my Symfony knowledge also increased rapidly. Another successful API project for an external customer fully set up, elaborated, managed, delegated, developed and completed; 1 year project via the API Platform system.

Working on a huge online financial web application where payments of employees were automatically calculated. This was fully built in PHP and frontend existed of HTML, CSS, Javascript, using the PHP framework CodeIgniter in combination with SASS & jQuery.
The jobs concerned fixing bugs, creating new features asked by clients and improving the web application.
