James Ervine

After leaving Urban Village Media I decided to go solo with my Graphic Design career. This was a decision that was made with the help of Urban Village as they become my main client and continue to give me work well into the future. Since continuing by myself I have gained various clients and worked across many mediums including, branding, print design, digital design, UX/UI design, website design, and packaging design. In more recent times my main client has become Porch Envy, a niche plant styling company that offers boutique plant packages to help with the sale of a property, or to people looking to add something new to their current home. I create all of Porch Envy's promotional and design material to keep in line with their current brand guidelines/style.

Urban Village is a community magazine that runs monthly editions to Surry Hills and the surrounding suburbs. I was the only Graphic Designer here and I had the responsibility of editing the design of the magazine. This was a new challenge for me as I had never worked in editorial design. I also, took photos to feature in the magazine alongside the articles, re-branded the company's identity, and produced digital & print material.

For 6 months I worked at Safety Graphics as a Graphic Designer. My main role during this time was designing evacuation diagrams for clients all across Australia. These diagrams were designed in line with Australian fire regulations. Other design tasks included creating new brand guidelines for the company, creating promotional material (digital & print), re-designing the company website, and taking photos for the website.
