Kerry Power

I am a new writer with the life experience that makes my writing stand out from others who are newly qualified. I have worked across several sectors, my work experience includes Refugee Action, The National Centre for Domestic Violence, teaching, customer services and care work. I have recently graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from Manchester Metropolitan University. I also have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education From Sheffield Hallam University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law, and a 2.1 in Law from the University of Liverpool. During my time at MMU I was the Opinion Editor for the University's Arts and Culture Magazine and contributed over 20 published pieces, including Opinion Pieces, Interviews, Articles, a 'Happy News' column, Flash Fiction and Poetry. I enjoy writing about emotive and topical issues, I am an excellent researcher and I am good with people, meaning my interviews run smoothly. I am disabled, neurodiverse, a woman and from a working class background, therefore I can write with lived experience of many within today's society. I am also happily married and mum to two teenage boys.
