I’m a results-driven copywriter and digital marketing specialist with 20+ years of national and international experience developed across various print and online publications.

I founded the copywriting and digital marketing company 'The Original Wordsmith Ltd' in 2014, following three years working as an Account Director at an award-winning marketing agency. Before this, I worked in a marketing capacity for a major global charity and as a freelance writer based in Thailand. I’ve worked as both a freelancer and agency-side and have supported clients from virtually all sectors – property, finance, health & wellness, and travel being the main ones.

I've worked on marketing copy for brands like The Body Shop, Boots, We are Tea and Radisson Blu hotels and have written everything from website copy, paid ads, blogs, articles, emails, newsletters, product descriptions, and print copy. My words have been featured on shampoo bottles in the major chain supermarkets and on product packaging in WH Smiths.

Coming from a marketing background, I look at copy from a commercial sense, as well as how it fits within a brands larger marketing strategy. I develop and execute marketing and communications plans and have worked on everything from televised charity appeals to event management of a unique celebrity event at The Royal Albert Hall.

I bring excellent multitasking abilities and am experienced at working to strict deadlines and managing time accordingly. I also have a strong awareness of brand management and the importance of brand guidelines and a demonstrable working knowledge of SEO copywriting and editing.

I launched the business in 2014 and have worked on a freelance and contract basis for numerous clients since then - some of which are detailed elsewhere under my experience to give a snapshot. I developed my brand, designed and wrote copy for the website - nothing relating to The Original Wordsmith was outsourced, so it's a strong reflection of what I can do. I work with clients of all sizes across all sectors - I can't think of a sector I haven't worked in and can provide examples if asked. That being said, I have had many clients from the health and wellness, finance, property, and travel and leisure industries in particular. I strategise, manage and produce marketing and content plans either to be executed in-house or by myself and have extensive experience in all forms of copywriting, SEO, marketing and brand management.
