Hey, I'm Lil 👋 I'm a freelance copywriter, copy editor, proofreader and content specialist, based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Over the past 11 years, I've worked with a wide variety of clients, from fast-paced marketing agencies to tiny start-ups taking tentative steps towards market.

I love to work with good communicators who allow me independence and creativity, but I'm equally at home slotting into an existing team on an established project in a supportive or collaborative role. I have several regular clients, some of whom I've been freelancing for for over 6 years. I consider my greatest attributes to be responsiveness, adaptability and an unwavering positive attitude 💪🦄😅

🖊 Copywriting and content: In a world where images are king, I still believe in the power of words! Whether it's 20,000 of them or just 240 characters, I have years of experience writing engaging copy which inspires action and keeps users coming back for more. Since 2011 I've written for over 30 FMCG, fashion, medical and lifestyle brands, and the standard of my work means I can call plenty of them regulars. I'm confident with technical and UX writing too, having worked with multiple healthcare and medical devices clients in recent years.

👓 Proofreading and Copy Editing: I LOVE to edit and proof! I have a keen eye for detail and I truly relish the chance to whip out my (figurative) red pen. I've completed training in both, and have a varied body of experience. If all you need is a fresh pair of eyes to proof work already created, or you've got a 60,000 word doc you just can't face... I'm your girl!

💬 Community management: I am a responsive, reactive and reliable community manager. I work across all major social networks, and have undergone training with a variety of content management systems. I provide tone-appropriate and always polite customer service, I have that keen eye for detail, AND I'm happy to problem solve to deliver the best communication possible.

I have recently appeared as a Guest Speaker at various events for the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), both fundraising events for Patrons and as a panelist at a Discovery Day for fellow Type One diabetics. The events centred around pregnancy in diabetes and the role of new technology in preconception, pregnancy and the postpartum period.
