I left the corporate world in 2012 to start my first Business 'Opal Marketing'. This marketing consultancy supported businesses and business owners to uplevel strategies, tactics and processes to propel growth and expansion. My first business baby taught me many lessons about Business, entrepreneurship and what it takes to succeed. My business and marketing mastery deepened with this experience and I was fully bitten by the Business Owner Bug!

My first official foray into the world of running a purely digital business was the online friendship matching site I created for mums. This was an incredibly valuable 2+ years of learning, and opened me up to working with some incredible women. I learned so much about about branding, messaging, social media, digital marketing, websites, blogging, making videos, building a network and so much more! I grew this business from a standing start to a monthly audience of over 87,000

- all without being a mum myself! I was also starting out on my digital business journey, learning along the way, and the mistake I made with MoM was not being focussed on the business and monetisation strategies needed to scale a digital business. Running this business also coincided with the devastating loss of my mother, and an emotional struggle with infertility that resulted in early menopause. In the end, I made the painful decision to close this business down for financial and emotional reasons, but am ever grateful for the people I met and the incredible lessons it taught me along the way.
