Thibault Manhaeghe

Teach for Belgium is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2013, that aims to tackle educational inequities by training and supporting young graduates and professionals to become inspiring teachers. Together with other stakeholders in the education system, we aim to tackle the teacher shortage in Maths, Sciences, French and Dutch, felt particularly acutely in schools with students from a low socio-economic background, and so help reduce educational inequities in Belgium. Via Teach for Belgium's Leadership Development Programme I taught full time for one year at "Institut Dominique Pire" school while also benefitting from continuous training and support. This allowed me to see huge growth in my leadership and communication skills, strengthened my resilience and developed my people and project management competencies.
